What qualifications and accreditations do your tutors have?
Our tutors are qualified teachers and accredited members of the Australian Tutoring Association
Does your program match up with the English Victorian Curriculum?
Yes our program is built on the English Victorian Curriculum Standards. Each activity within each session is linked to one or more of these standards
Do you help with homework and assignments?
No because that type of tutoring does not empower the student or allow him to gain practiced skills
Do you offer individual tutoring?
We don’t offer individual tutoring because the benefits of group dynamics far outvalue the benefitsindividual tutoring
Do you tutor online?
We will be delivering face to face at our school location.Face to face learning is a really effective way to learn knowledge and skills because it often combines different ways of learning including writing, reading, discussion, presentations, projects, group work, film clips, demonstration and practice.
What are your tutoring rates?
Our Tutoring rates for small group delivery is $70 per session. Each session has been designed to run for 55 minutes and is part of a Term package of 10-11 sessions depending on term dates. We don’t offer individual sessions
How and when is feedback given to parents?
Feedback is provided at the end of each session with an EXIT TICKET that students will bring home to discuss and a final term assessment and feedback
What happens if my child is absent?
The absent student will be emailed a digital copy of the lesson with modified instructions

We closely follow the skills set out in the Victorian Curriculum English Standards. However, we create innovative activities and theme-based content to engage the learner.
How will your programs be relevant to my child?
We will deliver to the themes of the Victorian Curriculum Standards in English and Humanities. Our important discussions with parents and children provide critical feedback . Our own personalized assessment also indicates the strengths and challenges of the child.
Do you give reports on my child’s progress? If so, how often?
YES. Learning Intentions and Success Criteria go home at the end of each session. A skill-based report and general comments will be emailed home at the end of each term. The Student Journal is also a measure of student progress and it is returned to the student at the end of term.

Are your tutors screened for child protection?
Yes, our tutors must have an up to date ‘Working with Children’ Check.
What are the qualifications and experience of the tutor or tutors who will be tutoring my child?
Our tutors are qualified and experienced teachers.
Is the tutor trained specifically in the subject area in which they are tutoring?
All our tutors are trained in the delivery of Student Centred Tutoring pathways.
Operations
Is the tutoring one to one or in a group? If it’s a group situation how large is it and how will the needs of my child be catered for?
Group dynamics cannot be understated . Groups of four learners allow for vital peer learning and the capacity for the tutor to have targeted one to one time with your child.
Where will the tutoring take place – What materials and methods will my child use/experience?
The tutoring will take place at our business address 144 Stephen Street, with convenient drop off parking outside. The student materials required will be a pencil case and a water bottle. We will provide the Student Journal which will be kept at the centre until the end of the term. Some sessions will require a personal digital device. Parents will be notified when this needs to occur

Fees and contracts
Do you have a refund policy?
Under the Australian Consumer Law, the tutoring sessions offered by Student Centred Tutoring come with the guarantee that they will be:
Provided with acceptable care and skill or technical knowledge and taking all necessary steps to avoid loss and damage;
Fit for the purpose or provide the services that Student Centred Tutoring and you agreed to; and
Delivered within a reasonable time frame of the scheduled session time/s
Student Centred Tutoring is legally obliged to provide a full refund if requested, where there is a ‘major failure’ of one or more of the guarantees. A major failure occurs where the service:
Has a problem that would have stopped you from buying it if they had known about it; or
Is substantially unfit for its purposes and cannot easily be fixed with reasonable time; or
Does not meet the specific purpose that it was intended for and cannot easily be fixed within a reasonable time period.
If the failure that has occurred is not a major failure but is still a failure on the part of Student Centred Tuturing, Student Centred Tutoring is required to rectify the failure. This might involve, but is not limited to, rescheduling a tutoring session, or part of a tutoring session.
